The First Day of Spring!

“It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is.
And when you've got it, you want—oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want,
but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”
Mark Twain

“Yeah, boy!”

Painting of Edward by Amber Alexander
and found tucked inside HERE

  1. i love all the paintings of edward in my book...
' from the house of edward.'
after reading it through when i first got it ... now there's a little ritual i look forward to.
when each season changes i read that season in your book! LOVE IT!!! xo

  2. What a lovely, happy paining of Edward, and wonderful way to welcome Spring!

  3. I immediately recognized Edward with tulips in the "Spring" chapter I am currently reading in your book. Yesterday I bought two pots of pansies: purple and orange. I love the way their small pedals wave in the wind, and admire their vibrant colors. Yes, Spring is in the air.

  4. No doubting that Edwards a PON with spring in his step.

  5. Spring seems to have sprung here in the UK too Pamela …….. mind you, I can remember when it snowed in May so, you never know what's around the corner, weather-wise, in the British Isles !!!! As I write this, there are clear blue skies, daffodils and crocus and warm sunshine.
What a lovely painting of Edward…. enjoy the beginning of Spring Pamela. XXXX XXXX

  6. What a lovely portrait of Edward! Please come by and see the Queens portrait : )
Happy Spring to you Pamela!!! (and Edward and Apple)
    ~ Violet

  7. Inspiring me to get back to painting more often, on canvas boards that is. And maybe less furniture painting.

  8. Hi Pamela!!!

I love Spring so much that when it's gone I yearn for it again, but, then summer at the beaches we have here in Vancouver, BC, make it all worth the while!!!

I love hearing the birds sing and having the hummingbirds getting to know me more and more!!! Had one land on my head yesterday and that was the greatest!!!!

I love the painting of Edward in amongst Spring's flowers!!!

    Have a great weekend!!!

  9. I adore SPRING too!!!!!!!The flowers are popping and the everything is so GREEN…………LOVE IT!
EDWARD, is adorable but YOU already know that!

  10. Edward always looks like he's smiling. Such a pretty water color of Edward.
Happy spring, hope your spring fever is a mild case.

  11. And Edward is smiling at the thought of Spring too Pamela - as we all are.

  12. Love the quotations--both of them! I am hanging out laundry on this gusty spring day (Cait O'Connor would be proud!), and each time I go in and out the back door, I stop and notice how just a little higher the daffodil and tulip leaves have grown since yesterday. We had a small patch of crocus bloom just against the house in early February (silly things!), and they were such a gift while we were still in the dead of winter. Now there is a small clump of snowdrops (eight, to be exact) in the front yard only a day away from opening! I hear they grow like weeds in some parts of the world… How I would love to see them in such profusion! I will be content to see our eight bloom and not be nipped by the deer that live in town and wander through our yards and gardens searching for just such tender delicacies! (We have discovered that deer do not seem to like the smell of dried bee balm, so I have broken off several dried stalks and surrounded the snowdrops with it like a fortress! We shall see if it's strong enough…) Happy Spring!

  13. Edward makes me smile - what a happy painting! It helps to see this on our wintery day. Spring doesn't really come until May in Maine.

  14. Spring fever here too! I love your painting of Edward. Such personality. :)
