Sail On

Sail On, Sail On,
Oh, mighty Ship of State.
To the shores of need,
Pass the reefs of greed,
Through the squalls of hate.
Sail On.
Sail On.
Sail On.

Can't think of a finer prophet to speak into today than Leonard! I have strangely felt more proud to be an American today than I have for awhile. Bless you for the image

Just when I wonder 'can it be that Americans aren't able to see how fortunate they are with their leader' you post this and my faith is somewhat restored.

Love the photo, the meaning of the day, and the words by Cohen - our Canadian poet.

So succinct, but covers it all!

You hit just the right note. It is wonderful that we are indeed "sailing on" with President Obama. The alternative was ghastly and made me despair... but the people voted ...and the choice was clear.

Lovely inspiring photograph Pamela and also good to get a close-up of part of Michelle's coat - I read about it and it is nice to see exactly what it is like.

Gorgeous photos! I love how Obama used both MLK's and Lincoln's bibles for his second inauguration, and even more I loved his message. Rights for all and respect for the planet. This will be a happy second term.

I'm also relieved to read the post below and know that you are feeling better. Sometimes too much well meant concern can be overwhelming. Life is meant to be lived looking forward.

I'm only catching up now, Pamela, after a long, unplanned hiatus. I'm so, so sorry to read of your loss. Every blessing to you, dear one, may the coming year be filled with healing and restorative moments, with sun and sand and oranges, and of course, that big white dog.
Sending hugs. xxx

The photo you chose of inauguration day of the 2 significant bibles could not be more poignant along with perfect words. "through the squalls of hate", strikes deeply true.

It was so happy to receive your message this week. I hope you do get to Scotland sometime very soon. How I would love to be able to greet you here. I truly appreciate your friendship and support Pamela. xx

However did you get that picture, Pamela? It is perfect, as is Cohen. I'm drawn, again, to Richard Blanco's poem and feel renewed. Thank you.

Bless his heart, I can only hope that Obama knows the American people want what he's striving for on our behalf.
